The Challenge for Cherry Tree Cottage
Cherry Tree Cottage is a typical example of Cotswold architecture, featuring semi-detached solid stone walls and floors. The homeowner faced rising energy bills as it became increasingly energy-intensive to keep the property warm.
Many homeowners share this experience with outdated oil-based heating systems that inadequately provide heat and hot water, resulting in higher costs.
Bundle’s Approach
After surveying the property, we determined that the best solution to address these rising energy bills was to install an affordable yet effective heating system.
We installed a 10kW Midea Air Source Heat Pump along with an unvented hot water cylinder, ensuring all heating and hot water demands were met. To maximise system efficiency, we upgraded 50% of the radiators in the property, allowing for more even heat distribution.
The Results
Projected savings: £433.50 per year on energy bills.
Carbon emissions: An estimated 5,950kg saved annually.
The homeowner is now gaining financial and carbon savings from replacing their ageing oil boiler, enjoying improved water pressure thanks to the unvented hot water cylinder.
