Projected over a 20-year lifespan based on installation costs and energy prices at the time of installation.
As a 200-year-old Listed Building, The Springs embodies the characteristics of a traditional Cotswold property, featuring solid stone walls, single glazing, and solid floors. The homeowner faced challenges in keeping the property warm and comfortable, especially with the rising energy bills.
Richard, the homeowner, had already implemented several practical measures to reduce his high energy costs before reaching out to Bundle. These measures included:
Richard recognised it was time to adopt a more effective approach and contacted Bundle to further reduce heat consumption.
After conducting a thorough survey of the property, we discovered a failing 25-year-old gas boiler that needed replacing. To adequately cover the heat load,we determined that two Air Source Heat Pumps would be sufficient.
To meet the demand, we installed two 11.2kW Mitsubishi Air Source Heat Pumps and a 300L hot water cylinder, which work seamlessly together, delivering heat and hot water evenly throughout the property.
Projected savings: £430 per year on energy bills.
Carbon emissions: An estimated 8,150 kg saved annually.
Previously, The Springs had suffered from colder rooms and higher heating bills. However, the combination of the upgrades previously undertaken and the Air Source Heat Pumps has resulted in a measurable improvement in the property.
Since the installation Richard has been extremely pleased with the results, as he wanted a green option that would increase the energyefficiency of his traditional Cotswold home.
With a heat pump’s gentle form of heating when compared to the blast of gas boilers, the house now boasts a more comfortable and pleasant form of heating.
They did a thorough survey, analysis and proposal – very little disruption the installers were excellent. Despite it being a 200-year-old Listed Building with solid walls, the system has performed very well. We are pleased with it– Richard Erskine
